Biography of Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis, born on November 22, 1958, in Santa Monica, California, is an American actress and writer known for her role as Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's 1978 film Halloween, which established her as a prominent figure in the horror genre. Her career includes notable films such as Trading Places (1983), My Girl (1991), True Lies (1994) — earning a Golden Globe nomination — and voice work in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009). In 2022, she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Everything Everywhere.
In addition to acting, Curtis is an author of 13 children’s books, including the Today I Feel... series. She has been married to director Christopher Guest since 1984, with whom she has two adopted children. Active on Instagram, she shares insights on aging, mental health, and body positivity.
