Biography of Lara Della Mea
Lara Della Mea, born February 24, 2000, in Sondrio, Italy, is an alpine skier specializing in slalom. She began skiing at age 3 and debuted in the World Cup in 2018. Her first World Cup slalom victory came in 2022 at Kranjska Gora. She won a bronze medal in slalom at the 2023 World Championships and achieved several podium finishes and consistent top 10 results in World Cup events. At the 2022 Beijing Olympics, she placed 7th in slalom and 12th in giant slalom.
In the 2025/26 season, Della Mea leads the World Cup slalom standings with wins in Killington, Levi, and Semmering and is a leading contender for gold at Milan-Cortina 2026. Standing 165 cm tall with an athletic build suited for slalom, she maintains a presence on Instagram where she shares aspects of her training and races. She comes from a family of skiers in Lombardy and trains at the Bormio club.
