Biography of Emi Shumer
Amy Beth Schumer, born June 1, 1981, in New York, is an American comedian, actress, screenwriter, and producer. She gained recognition in 2007 after placing fourth on Last Comic Standing, leading to regular club performances and several stand-up specials for Comedy Central and HBO, including Mostly Sex Stuff (2012) and Live at the Apollo (2015). Her comedy often addresses sex, relationships, body image, and the female experience. In 2015, Schumer wrote and starred in the film Trainwreck, which grossed $140 million and received critical acclaim. She also created the series Inside Amy Schumer (2013–2016, 2022) and appeared in other films and guest roles, earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
Since 2018, Schumer has been married to Chris Fisher and became a mother with the birth of her son Gene in 2019. The couple adopted two daughters in 2020 and 2025. She has spoken publicly about challenges related to pregnancy, motherhood, and her struggle with endometriosis.
